Sometimes we’re tempted to turn our wheels while waiting to turn at an intersection and that, as you will see in the video below, is a particularly bad idea. The dual dashcam video shows the driver being hit from behind and, because the vehicle’s wheels are turned, propelled into the opposing lane where a large truck is bearing down at speed. It could have been so much worse – the truck just makes a glancing blow on the car as opposed to a full head-on collision – but it illustrates really clearly why you should always wait at an intersection with your wheels facing forward (or in the direction of your lane).
